a dream of springtime
Yesterday on Cape Cod came several more inches of snow. Last night I dreamt of bright green springtime amongst patches of heavy winter snow. Two distinct seasons of the year in one landscape.

windy 'toons
This is another piece with a similar feel as the art below. This one has a cartoony personality. It's another piece inspired by the flowing sound of music.
5 x7". Watercolor and color pencil on watercolor paper.

Light and Dark
I love making these kinds of organic, free flowing, abstract art pieces. It's quite soothing and gratifying to create. The biggest challenge is feeling the line between 'not being enough' and 'what is too much'.
This is only 3 x 5". MiniArt. Watercolor, color pencil, and ink (Faber-Castel PITT Artist pens) on smooth Strathmore bristol board.

Neon Albuquerque

As I posted on August 7th, this is a scuplture above the freeway in Albuquerque. On the return trip from Las Vegas, we drove past this sculpture in the dark, around 5:00 a.m. It was lit up, giving the desert mountain a neon glow. Remembering back, this had a dreamy, surrealistic feel.
I try not to mix Photoshop with art, but this seemed appropriate.

house on a hill

While driving up a steep hill, I caught a glimpse of an interesting house. I held the snapshot in my head, then drew this sketch. Later, I went back up the hill to have another look. This is the shape of the house, but the details are completely different, like drawing something you see in a dream. A quick glimpse from a vague memory.
