Thank you, Rene. After losing, and then finding the pencil, I remembered a story I heard a long time ago about Salvador Dali. He would sit in a chair and meditate while holding a key in his hand. When he dropped the key, the images in his mind at that moment is what he would paint. I have no idea if this is a true story, but I've always loved it. In its own way, this sketch was inspired by the story.
