Other than the building, this scene never existed. While waiting for tacos, I sketched the building. The order was faster than usual, so I got the tacos and left. Later, I added the drunken cowboys.
The Future Farmers of America livestock show, San Marcos, Texas. These kids do a great job of raising animals. I was especially intrigued with the goats with coats.
In the waiting room of the local tire store is a horse saddle on a saw horse. While watching my money turn into a round rubber tube, I wondered if it's cheaper to ride a horse.
A rancher with his Australian shepard, filling up the gas tank early in the morning. People around here love to drive their pickup trucks with their dogs in the back. Some of the dogs balance themselves on the roof of the truck while moving at 50 miles an hour down the road. They are usually leashed, but still...?!?!
Cowboys, crops, cattle, oil and gas. This is just about all you see for miles and miles in West Texas. This is somewhere near Levelland (appropriately named). There is also a fair amount of healthy looking banks in the area.
This is one of those quintessentially bucolic scenes, sketched at a ranch on Mt. Sharp Road, a few miles outside Drippin' Springs, Texas. It was another scortching hot day with not much shade to be found.
I recieved the Moleskine Watercolour Notebooks in the mail, what a great surprise! Thank you, Marsida and Moleskine People. Although I need some practice, I am so excited to fill these pages.
This first page was a sketch of a cowboy at the local rodeo grounds. They were waiting their turn for a competition. Both cowboy and horse were very patient, thank you!
