windward side, Kayo Costa

This is the Gulf of Mexico side of the barrier island. On the horizon is Gasparilla Island.

Wow it looks like you've had some great weather over there. With the palm trees and tropical plants that you've been drawing, Florida seems to be very similar to Cairns (Australia). Florida gets hurricanes too doesnt it? We get cyclones instead.

The weather has been great. Yes, Florida gets hurricanes. The vegetation was flattened on this island by Hurricane Charley 4 years ago. Cyclones - clockwise rotation. Hurricanes - counter clockwise rotation. I wonder what happens with rotation when you flush a toilet at the equator?

Maybe it sucks straight down without swirling! They tested that theory on Top Gear when they were in Asia... Cant remember the results though.

Haha! I'd love to see that!
