Wind and snow, and then more snow and wind.  Not that it matters too much more than a hill of Boston baked beans, but this wickedly wild winter weather does in fact extend beyond the Boston city limits.  Cape Cod is only about fifty miles away.  I love this extreme winter weather!

Being on the beach always inspires beach and ocean art.  There are so many wonderful places and things to explore along the shoreline.  There are edible shellfish and seaweed that can be plucked and eaten immediately.  Others are taken home and steamed to perfection.  Edible art inspirations.

When I paint, there is always a scrap of the same material that I use for testing colors and techniques.  Many times these scraps eventually become art themselves.  It's like a casserole,  mixings of this and that, which inevitably becomes art unto itself.

Light and Dark

I love making these kinds of organic, free flowing, abstract art pieces.  It's quite soothing and gratifying to create.  The biggest challenge is feeling the line between 'not being enough' and 'what is too much'.

Another quick version. I've been busy with other projects, so I've had not much time for the-Fun-Of-It drawings lately. I'm working on designing, and then painting a 2'x12' mural, and several smaller signs. It's a great project, so I'll have more on that later. Stay warm out there!

Recently I was commissioned to create a three-dimensional painting of whimsical tropical fish. It will be made of 3 layers of masonite and wood, painted with acrylics. I haven't done one of these in quite some time, so I am really looking forward to this.
