pedal power

Tantra Coffeeshop, San Marcos, Texas. This is a big college town, home of Texas State University. I've noticed more and more bikes at this coffeeshop, and more than usual available parking places for cars. Even in the brutal summer heat, more people seem to have opted for a fossil fuel alternative.

Hi, I found your blog/Flickr page via Boingboing.net, and after seeing your gorgeous Moleskine art, I have to ask: how do you do it? Every time I use a pen/fineliner to do drawings in Moleskine sketchbook the ink just sucks into the paper so much I get left with a greyish line of ink. Was just wondering how you keep your lines so black. I love the design of the books, but not the actual paper in them..

And I found you via France Belleville! I'm going to subscribe to you, too---your work has lovely clarity of line and such strong compositions. I look forward to getting to know all of it better.

sean...moleskine has a heavyweight and lightweight paper in the sketchbooks. I use the heavyweight, the ink really glides over the paper. The lightweight seems to absorb more, that seems to make the ink lighter.
