morning coffee

While taking pictures for this sketch, the waitress kept glancing at me with a very annoyed expression. At first I couldn't figure out why, then I realized she thought I was taking pictures of her. She finally ignored me, probably thought I was some wierdo with an obsession for salt and pepper shakers.

tree house

It took several sittings to get this one. Sometimes this method works best. Other times it's just fast and furious energy.

woodwork collaboration

An Embossed copper piece that Steve Straffin created from my line art of roses. This will be inlaid on top of one of his handmade wooden boxes. Steve Straffin is an amazingly talented and experienced woodworker, craftsman/artist living in Massachusetts. We are working together and hopefully come up with some interesting pieces.

fossil fuel

A sketch of a fossil in my collection. With added enhancements.

fossil fuel

An exercise with gouache. The biggest challenge is keeping the integrity of the original color. This is always my nemesis, especially with green.

rain!

Oh wonderful rain! It's been so long since we have had substantial rain. Now it is here, a day of celebration! The whole world needs it. For me it's like a nurturing cleansing of the soul. I love rain.

"Tropical Sno"

Today marks the beginning of the snow cone season with their grand re-opening. There are probably 100 flavors to choose from. Snow cones are the perfect treat for a scortching hot summer day. Or, a pleasant March afternoon.

Dandy Dog!

The grand opening of the Dandy Dog hot dog stand1 It's the little things that make small town life interesting.
Tourism is the number 1 industry in Wimberley, but it leaves much to be desired in the dining experience. This past Sunday afternoon, the Dandy Dog was one of the few places to eat out that was not closed. This always baffles me, tourists and locals must drive 15 miles to the next town for a Sunday dinner.
