The Barnacle seafood restaurant. I didn't eat here, but did explore the rocks at low tide. There are some wonderful creatures in the pools around the rocks.

downtown Dripping Springs, Texas
Locally nicknamed Drippin'. This is the next closest town to Wimberley, about 15 miles north. It's growing by leaps and bounds with new developments spreading out from Austin. But downtown has this area of a couple of blocks that have remained the same. The brand new Home Depot, CVS pharmacy, McDonald's and Taco Bell have been encroaching on the old buildings. Drippin' is growing up fast.

low water crossing
A quick location sketch of a low water crossing in the neighborhood of Woodcreek. Cypress Creek is spring-fed from the local aquifers, and when it rains this one lane road is underwater. There are quite a few of these low water crossings. It's a gamble taking an old ranch road and discovering 15 miles later that it's closed. You have to turn around, go back and take an alternate route to the original destination. This happened to me recently. But, after last summer's drought, I am not complaining one bit.
