This is a location sketch I drew about three years ago. A stretch of wide-open land runs between the wooded creek land and Skyline Ridge. I've always been curious with this cedar tree stump with the hand painted sign.

Late afternoon, looking north. This is my yard, the side that doesn't face the new 19 home gated community that is under earth-moving construction. That is the view looking southeast.

I live on a 5 acre parcel of land that is former cattle ranch. The ranch house, my little house (former mechanic's shop), the barn and blacksmith sheds are still standing. In the far left background is the original rock cistern. In the center is the side of the barn. On the right is the shed, and my outdoor studio. In the foreground is a deer path that leads into my yard where I feed them.
